Kenya was our first stop, we got to our hotel at around 11pm. A quick beer and bed as we had an early start the next morning.

After a early breakfast we set out on a rather bumpy 3.5 hour journey to our safari camp, crossing through The Great Rift Valley. The afternoon was spent napping and going on a Maasi Mara walk, our guide explained aspects of how the Meaasi live and there traditions along with pointing out wildlife as we walked.
The walk ended at a Maasi village where the tribe danced and sung for our arrival and proceeded to show us around there home. Aimee bought a Maasi bracelet and we headed back to our lodge for dinner and of course a couple kenyan beers.

Safari day, 5.30am breakfast, followed by a extremely bumpy 1.5 hour drive to the game park. We spent most of the day here driving around searching for the big 5 (lion, leopard, buffalo, hippo and rhino). Our tour guide had promised us at least three of these being lion, buffalo and hippo.

This was topped by getting a slim glimpse of a leopard resting under a bush (one of the rarest to spot). We also came across a cheeta with two cubs, elephants, wildebeest and another smaller cat which I cant remember the name of but was apparently very rare to see.

Cat I can’t remember the name of!
So all in all, our flying visit to Kenya has been a success, we travelled back to Nairobi this morning and are now sat in our hotel killing time until our flight to Thailand tonight.
